Questions on Paddleboards?

Can I bring my dog on my paddleboard?

Absolutely! Our boards are made with ultra-durable PVC that handles dog claws very well. For a pleasant and stable outing with your four-legged companion, we recommend the Sequoia 11' or Maligne 11' models (33 inches wide, max capacity of 375 lbs). If you're looking for a great balance between glide and stability, the Naia 11' or Peyto 11' (max 325 lbs) are also excellent choices.

Are there paddleboards that are good for Yoga?

If you want to practice yoga on the water, we recommend a model that offers excellent stability. Our best options are the Sequoia 11' XL (34 inches wide) or the Sequoia 11' and Maligne 11' models, which offer a great balance between space and stability.

Will rocks or other obstacles damage my paddleboard?

Yes, even though our boards are made with ultra-durable PVC, they are not indestructible. A collision with a rock or hard object can cause scratches, cracks, or even a puncture. To extend the lifespan of your paddleboard, we recommend avoiding rocky areas and paddling cautiously in shallow waters.

Can I put one or two kayak seats on a paddleboard?

Yes! Thanks to the attachment points around the non-slip deck, you can easily install one or two kayak seats on your paddleboard.

If you're installing just one seat, make sure to use the four attachment points around the deck to ensure proper support and optimal comfort.

For two seats:

  • To install the first seat, use the front elastic loops and the first loops around the deck.

  • If you want to add a second seat, attach it using the rear loops on the deck and the first loops of the rear elastic.

Which paddleboard do you recommend for a beginner?

To get started, we recommend a wide and long board that offers excellent stability. The Sequoia 11', Maligne 11', Peyto 11', and Naia 11' models are perfect choices to learn with confidence.

  • Sequoia 11 and Maligne 11 will be more stable and a bit less fast. (focus more on stability)

  • Naïa 11 and Peyto 11 will glide better but be a little less stable (focus on both glide and stability)

Problems to Simple Solutions 😊

The needle of my manual pump isn't moving. when inflating my board

Don't worry, this is completely normal! When you start inflating your paddleboard, the board needs to take shape first before the gauge begins to detect the pressure. Once the board becomes rigid, keep pumping, and you'll gradually see the needle rise.

Read our article on how to inflate your paddleboard here 👈

There is an air leak around the valve of my paddleboard.

Don't worry, an air leak around the valve is not a defect or damage. The solution is simple!

It's important to know that the valve is not glued and its two parts are removable. To fix it, follow these steps:

  1. Reposition the female part inside, aligning it with the hole.

  2. Make sure there is no white thread in the valve threads.

  3. Take the male outer part of the valve and screw it by hand into the female part.

  4. Once hand-tight, inflate the board to around 10 PSI.

  5. Use the black handle to finalize the tightening of the valve once the board is inflated. (Make sure to turn the handle straight to avoid damaging the valve teeth.)

  6. Once it’s tight, you can inflate the board to the recommended pressure.

If a small air leak persists around the valve, repeat step 5 until it disappears.

See a step by step guide with pictures here 👈

Your valve is now properly tight. 😄

The handle of my paddle is loose and doesn't stay in place.

The handle of your paddle has an adjustment mechanism to increase the clamping force of the clip.

To tighten the clip, simply open it, then turn the handle clockwise, like a screw, and test the fit.

Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the clip. It’s better to proceed gradually, tightening slightly each time and testing until you find the optimal fit.

Technical Questions

The paddle has an angle in the blade. Which side should it face?

The angle of the paddle blade is designed to optimize propulsion. When holding the paddle, the concave (curved) side of the blade should face forward, toward the nose of the board. This orientation ensures better grip in the water and more efficient propulsion.

How long does it take to inflate a paddleboard?

With the provided manual pump, inflating your paddleboard to the recommended pressure of 15 to 20 PSI usually takes between 7 and 15 minutes, depending on your pace and experience.

To optimize inflation, use the pump’s double-action mode, which injects air both when pushing and pulling the handle. Once the pressure increases and pumping becomes more difficult, it’s recommended to switch to single-action mode by removing the pump cap. This will allow you to use your body weight to compress the air more easily during downward strokes, making it easier to reach the optimal pressure.

Can I keep my board inflated?

Yes, you can keep your board inflated, but there are a few precautions to take to prevent it from getting damaged over time:

✅ Reduce the pressure to 5-7 PSI if storing it for long periods to limit stress on the seams and materials.

✅ Store it in a dry place, out of direct sunlight, to prevent moisture and UV rays from damaging the PVC and weakening the adhesives over time.

✅ Avoid extreme temperature variations, as excessive heat can increase internal pressure and weaken the welds.

💡 If you're short on space, it’s better to deflate your board and follow the folding and storage recommendations to preserve its shape and durability. Find all our tips here: How to properly store your inflatable paddleboard.

⚠️ Warning: It is not recommended to leave your paddleboard inflated in the sun for long periods. Prolonged exposure can cause excessive pressure on the materials and adhesives, potentially damaging the board over time. If you don’t use it regularly, it’s better to deflate it and store it in a cool, dry place.

How many PSI should I put in the paddleboard?

The recommended pressure for our paddleboards ranges from 12 to 20 PSI, depending on the model and intended use.

💡 Before inflating your board, check the maximum pressure indicated around the valve to avoid exceeding its capacity.

🔥 In very hot and sunny weather, we recommend inflating your board to at least 4 PSI below the maximum limit, as heat can naturally increase internal pressure and cause damage.

📏 Always use the built-in gauge on the pump provided to check the pressure while inflating and never exceed the maximum pressure to preserve the durability of your paddleboard.

How do I deflate and roll up my board?

1️⃣ Open the valve to let the air escape naturally. Once most of the air is released, close the valve.

2️⃣ Attach the pump hose and use the deflation mode to fully expel the air. This will make folding easier and optimize storage.

3️⃣ Fold the board starting from the front (the nose) towards the valve.

4️⃣ Once you reach the valve, fold the back of the board inward to avoid folding directly under the fin, which could damage it.

5️⃣ Finish folding by bringing the front over the back, then store your board in its carrying bag.

📌 Need a detailed guide? Follow our instructions here: How to store your inflatable paddleboard in its bag.

It's winter! How should I store my board?

Your paddleboard should be stored in a dry, temperate place to avoid extreme temperatures and humidity, which can cause mold or separation of the PVC layers.

Before storing it:

  • Clean and dry your board: Rinse your SUP with fresh water using a soft cloth, then let it dry completely to avoid bad odors and mold. Do the same with your accessories (paddle, leash, fins, etc.).

Inflated or deflated? It's up to you!

✔ If you want to leave it inflated, lower the pressure to 3-7 PSI to reduce tension on the seals.

✔ If you’re short on space, you can:

  • Roll the board like a "burrito" (without tightening it too much) to avoid deep creases.

  • Store it in its carrying bag, folding it properly from the nose to the back, fins up, and avoid placing heavy items on top.

Where to store it?

Choose a dry, temperate place to avoid UV exposure and extreme temperature fluctuations, which could damage the adhesives, PVC, and fade the colors of the board.

By following these tips, your paddleboard will be ready to use as soon as the good weather returns!

Can I travel with my paddleboard inflated on the roof of the car?

"Traveling with your paddleboard inflated on the roof of your car is not recommended! Prolonged exposure to wind forces, temperature changes, sunlight, and vibrations can affect the structure of your board. This may not only shorten its lifespan but also cause deformation or premature wear. To ensure optimal transport and preserve the quality of your paddleboard, it’s best to deflate it and store it carefully in its carrying bag.

Does the paddle float?

Yes, the paddle floats, but with certain limitations. While it’s designed to float, it’s not completely watertight. This means that over time, and depending on its level of submersion, small amounts of water may enter the paddle. This can increase its weight, potentially causing it to sink or making it harder to maneuver. Additionally, if someone falls onto the paddle or applies pressure to it in the water, it’s not guaranteed to stay on the surface.

How does the kayak seat work?

The kayak seat attaches directly to the four tie-down points around the non-slip deck of the board. The straps for the backrest go to the two front attachments, while the seat straps connect to the two rear attachments.

You’ll need to adjust the straps the first time, but once they’re set to the correct length, you can easily install the seat. It is designed to provide excellent back support, allowing you to paddle in kayak mode while maintaining optimal comfort.

How do I attach the ankle strap?

Don't worry, we're here to guide you through the process of attaching your ankle strap.

We’ve prepared a detailed guide with clear steps and photos to help you attach it correctly.
